The Story About Meisho Maru
Cape Agulhas named after the needle-like rocks that line its shores, is infamous for its treacherous seas and storms. Located at the southern most tip of Africa I had the chance to spend some time there and witness just how temperamental the weather can be.
At the centre of the frame lies the wreck of the Meisho Maru. Thankfully, all who were aboard made it safely to shore, but the ship remains as a reminder of the ocean’s power. On this day, shifting weather gave rise to dramatic light, casting alternating shadows and highlights across the scene. The combination of the wreck, the jagged coastline, and brooding atmosphere created a melancholic yet beautiful image - a testament to both the fragility and the resilience of life at the edge of the sea.
