The Story About Zoo Palast

When creating this photograph of the Zoo Palast Cinema Theatre, I consciously drew on the influence of Hiroshi Sugimoto. The theatre struck me not only for its design but also for its sheer scale, and I wanted to hold both qualities within a single frame.

What lends the photograph its surreal character is the black and white palette. Without the distraction of colour, the theatre takes on a different dimension, its scale and form heightened, its atmosphere closer to a dream than to reality. The result is a space that feels both cinematic and timeless, a stage where past and future quietly converge.

This artwork is part of a limited edition of 20 fine art prints. The work is printed by a master printer using archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle Fine Art Photo Rag paper, resulting in a long lasting museum quality print.
