The Story Behind Athlone

Connecting with some of the city of Cape Town's forgotten structures. This photograph is completely unique in that a photography permission had to be obtained as it is off limits to the public.

The massive chimney stacks stand guard over a face brick collection of rectangles and squares. Each one of these very linear forms giving shape to what is now the decommissioned Athlone Power Station.

Awards

From a limited edition of 10, this multi-award winning work is part of my, "Scale of Space" series and is printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Photo Rag paper, which sets the standard for image definition and pictorial depth.
